Solomon Kane is a 16th century heartless and cruel warrior. One day Death turns up, just in the midst of one of his brushes, demanding him his soul because of his many crimes. In order to avoid this fate, he renounces to continue killing people. But, sooner than later, he'll be forced to use again his weapons, this time to protect people from the monstrous and deformed men that are killing and enslaving people."Solomon Kane" is directed by Michael J. Basset, and has been created by Robert E. Howard, who was also the creator of "Conan the Barbarian". The main character is played by James Purefoy and other actors in the movie are Rachel Hurd-Wood, Pete Postlethwaite, Jason Flemyng, Alice Krige, Mackenzie Crook and Max von Sydow.Like many films based on a comic, "Solomon Kane"'s plot is a little weak, but it's worth seeing because of the fight and action scenes, the narrative pace, the spectacular special effects and because it is always a pleasure to see Max von Sydow and Pete Postlethwaite acting. The rest of characters are correctly played by actors and the movie, in the end, is very entertaining.
